Fall Internship 2026 Focus

APPLICATION DEADLINE HAS PASSED

 

The field of medicine and the role of practicing professionals are shaped by healthcare policy and constantly affected by changes in legislation. The Pre-Physician Assistant Club at UCLA is looking for 3 dedicated members to help research and educate fellow pre-PA students on recent changes in health policy and issues affecting PAs, PA students, and prospective PA students like us! In addition, interns will learn more about how our club operates and gain valuable leadership experience. Please note that no experience or expertise in the profession is required. Anyone regardless of year or major is encouraged to apply. We are looking for individuals with a passion for learning and leadership, while promoting our club goals:​

  1. Build community 

  2. Increase accessibility for various pre-PA students

  3. Increase awareness of profession

  4. Maintain diversity in meeting/opportunity types

  5. Maintain strong and consistent presence throughout the year

Thus, internship roles will be interdisciplinary and project based according to the main goals of each quarter. 
 

Fall 2025

The intention of Fall quarter is to educate pre-PA members on various PCE opportunities and how to obtain them

  • Compile lists of where to obtain a PCE certification/license + job opportunities

  • Create presentations on the roles of various PCE opportunities

  • What PCE opportunity is right for you? Possible blog post

  • Help coordinate and host the PCE Panel

  • Attend Board Meetings

 

Winter 2026

The intention of the Winter quarter is to begin coordinating and planning for our first Pre-PA Career Night in Spring 2026. Along with celebrating and recognizing our members, the goal of the night would be to increase visibility for the PA career and allow members to network with current PAs and students. Projects for the quarter include: 

  • Supporting coordinators in planning Pre-PA Career Night S26 

  • Assisting in grant writing for Pre-PA Career Night S26

  • Collaborating on fundraising event planning  

  • Attending Board Meetings and General Meetings

 

Spring 2026 ​

The Spring quarter intends to help increase visibility on the PA profession to younger generation. Additionally, helping with logistics of our first Pre-PA Career Night and finishing up last-minute details to make sure the event goes smoothly. Projects for the quarter include:

  • Organizing Pre-PA Banquet

  • CASPA/Application based

Fall 2026

The intention of the Fall Quarter 2026 Internship is to research and educate pre-PA members on recent and relevant policy changes that affect the PA profession. Projects for the quarter include:

  • Researching the Department of Education’s 2026 changes made to federal student-loan borrowing limits 

  • Researching additional policies that impact PAs such as reimbursement policy, California-specific legislation, and scope-of-practice laws 

  • Organize an educational final presentation and deliver it during a general meeting towards the end of the quarter 

  • Attend all Board Meetings to gain an understanding of club operations

Internship Requirements 

  • Must intend to be an active member for the 2026-2027 academic year

  • Attend mandatory biweekly board meetings (even weeks Monday, 6-7PM)

  • Complete any assignments assigned in a timely manner 

  • Interns must reapply each quarter as new projects are introduced
